Dr Frank Børre Pedersen, Programme Director and Head of the Artificial Intelligence section at DNV, boasts 28 years of technical and managerial experience across diverse domains such as oil & gas, maritime, and renewable energy. His passion lies at the intersection of technology understanding, practical applications, and customer needs.

About Frank Børre 

Dr Pedersen has 28 years of technical and managerial experience in DNV covering oil & gas, maritime and renewable energy. His passion lies at the intersection of technology understanding, practical applications, and customer needs. He has a strong technical background as well as a 10-year proven management record. 

Before joining Group Research and Development in 2014, he had 18 years of experience in various DNV business areas working with risk assessment, technology qualification, modelling and simulations (what we today call assurance).  He has been part of developing novel services within enterprise risk management where innovations and co-development with customers were the modus operandi.  

During his last four years prior to joining the Research and Development unit, he headed a department in the Energy Systems division, consisting of 80 people and covering four areas: Information risk management, Asset risk management, Business Risk Management and Business Frameworks & Lifetime Extensions. This management role made him further appreciate the value of developing solutions meeting customer needs.  

He enjoys working with people and finds that people management in the R&D part of DNV is very important and somewhat different management in the business areas. Therefore, he brings a broad range of experience in people management into his current role.
