Up until now, engineers working with offshore concrete structures have typically relied on general-purpose tools or in-house scripts to ensure compliance. The process can be cumbersome and error-prone. An alternative is to leverage the synergy between Sesam and ShellDesign to optimize the design and analysis of the structures, whether they are offshore wind or O&G, and whether they are fixed or floating.
Watch this webinar video to learn the benefits of using ShellDesign in connection with Sesam analyses and the available design results.
Agenda:
- Introduction
- ShellDesign workflow
- Way forward for ShellDesign and Sesam
About the speakers:
Bente Skovseth Nyhus (M.Sc.) has been working in Dr.techn. Olav Olsen (OO), Norway, since 2006. OO is the owner and developer of the concrete design program, ShellDesign, and Bente has been a member of the ShellDesign software development team since 2006. She has experience from a wide range of projects, especially design of offshore concrete structures, in all project phases varying from FEED to detail design and reassessment of structures, where ShellDesign has been instrumental for the design checks of the concrete structures.
Laurens Alblas has been working in DNV at Høvik, Norway, since 2012 and has a background in aerospace engineering and wind energy. He is responsible for the Sesam software for strength assessment of offshore wind structures, and further improving and optimizing the way strength assessment software is being used in the offshore wind industry.
