Wave forces on non-structural members
A non-structural member is given a non-structural property – i.e. a normal beam with sectional property plus an additional property. The wave load analysis computes the wave loads on such members as for normal beams. In the structural analysis the stiffnesses of the non-structural members are set to zero. In this way the wave loads on non-structural members contribute to the structural analysis but their stiffnesses do not.
