Fully coupled analysis
When carrying out a motion analysis of a floater, the mooring lines and risers may be represented by linear springs and the calculated motions transferred to the mooring lines or risers and the resulting response of these calculated.
In a fully coupled mooring analysis, however, the interaction between the floating object and the mooring lines and risers is taken into account such that the floater motions are influenced by the non-linear behaviour of the mooring lines and risers.
