Wind Turbine Power Performance IEC 61400-12-1 training course

Power performance measurements according to the international guidelines IEC 61400-12-1 Edition 2 (2017)

This two day training course allows attendees to benefit from DNV’s extensive experience in power curve measurements according to the international guideline IEC 61400-12-1 Ed.1 with a focus on the changes included in Ed.2 (2017).

Additional information
Expectations for power curve verification are defined and negotiated before financial close of a project in order to minimize the power performance risk. Many contracts today are including a reference to Ed.2 but there is limited experience with the methods and uncertainties. There is also limited understanding about the requirements versus recommendations in this extended guideline.

On completion, delegates should understand the key changes and risks associated with implementation of Ed.2 of IEC 61400-12-1. Further, DNV will share experiences with the application of the new methods and uncertainty recommendations to provide a better starting point to conduct a test or to negotiate the content of a power curve warranty.

The course includes interactive exercises, using sample datasets, for hands-on experience in the application of the new methods. Familiarity with Excel will better enable the learning experience with these exercises.

Who should attend?
Developers, wind turbine OEMs, operators, lenders and other professionals involved in prototype development or power curve warranty negotiation and execution.
