The training course is based on the key aspects of integrated power system planning:

• technical aspects
• economic and financial aspects
• environmental and social aspects
The three-day training course will start with an introduction to electricity markets and organisation. It will then study demand forecasting and provide an introduction to generation planning. The next two days will address generation planning in more detail, transmission planning, investment appraisal, economic and financial analysis and social and environmental aspects. Various tools will be introduced along with illustrative examples. During the interactive training course, participants will be encouraged to actively participate in discussions and short exercises.
