EU RO Mutual Recognition (MR) Scheme
DNV offers EU MR Type Approval for products applying the EU RO Mutual Recognition (MR) scheme
As well as individual Type Approval Certification, DNV also offers the possibility of obtaining a type approval certificate that is mutually recognised by all other classification societies working under EU Regulation 391/2009.
In order to ensure compliance with the class rules of the EU ROs and not to jeopardize safety, the MR scheme is limited to non-safety critical products and applications where no individual or product-specific certificate is required by the EU ROs.
This is subject to certain conditions:
- Product design and manufacturing quality must be covered by the MR scheme (EU MR Technical Requirements)
- The application case must be known and non-critical.
